The Department of Speech Communication and Performing Arts was established alongside the founding of the Faculty of Communication Arts in 1974. It offers 2 majors: Speech Communication and Performing Arts.
The
Speech Communication
major emphasizes both theoretical foundations related to human communication across various levels and contexts, and practical, public-facing projects. The curriculum integrates multiple disciplines and includes professional internships as well as participation in speech-related activities.The
Performing Arts
major focuses on performing arts as a form of communication, combining creative production in real spaces and digital media. Students develop both theoretical and practical expertise, along with skills in creative thinking, collaboration, social analysis, and producing meaningful work relevant to today’s cultural and creative industries.Head of the Department
