Department of Public Relations
Faculty of Communication Arts, Chulalongkorn University
About Department
The Department of Public Relations originated alongside the establishment of the Department of Mass Communication and Public Relations, which later became the Faculty of Communication Arts in 1974. Initially, the field offered instruction solely in Public Relations, until 1979 when the Faculty revised its curriculum and introduced an additional area of study in Advertising.
The Public Relations field focuses on theories, principles, and practical applications of public relations in both general and marketing contexts. Students gain knowledge and understanding of public relations planning, persuasion, public opinion building, and the effective use of various media for communication purposes. Meanwhile, the Advertising field emphasizes all aspects of advertising practice. It equips students with expertise in advertising and brand communications, consumer behavior, media planning, digital marketing, advertising campaigns, brand management, computer graphics for marketing communications, and advertising and brand communications research.
